Problem backing up ROM on Galaxy S II via ROM Manager

So I followed the instructions and successfully flashed the cf-root kernel to my sg2. I then used the cwm app to do a full backup of the nand. Then I wanted to get rid of the pesky triangle so I used odin to flash the original kernel back and that seemed to leave me without the triangle and still rooted with the cwm app. Now to use the cwm app to flash the zImage from the cf-root kernel is where I have issues. I select the Zimage and then it reboots into the normal samsung recovery screen and the zimage is never flashed. How do I get the cw recovery screen back so that the zimage can be flashed? It seems like just the cwm app won't do it.

Hi Slug,

Thanks, I'll have to try it :)

By the way, how do I get the latest clockwork recovery? Mine is ver 4.0.0.2 and it came automatically when I flashed the KI4 insecure kernel to give me root.
Also, the CWM app that I have in the app drawer also came with the kernel and is version 2.0.
Is there an update.zip (or two) that would provide the latest versions of these?
Thanks again,

Alan.

In theory any CF-Root-SGS2_xx_xxx_xxx-v5.x-CWM5.zip package should work. Make a CWM backup before trying it, in case it won't boot with a particular kernel. Alternatively, flash a custom kernel such as Siyah (see separate topic) which also includes recent versions of both CWM and ClockworkMod Recovery.
