Root Problem brewing for me and my EVO

(Sorry if this is placed in the wrong forum. Thought I'd post it here tho as I spend 99% of my time!)

My wife's phone was available for an upgrade a couple months ago and mine is ready early Sept. I am taking a personal stand against SPRINT and had already determined that I was leaving after 16-17 yrs of loyalty. If she got a new phone with them, I would need to sign another two yr contract. Wasn't/Isn't gonna happen. [When I purchased my EVO 4G back in Jul 2010, I did so ONLY because I was being told that SPRINT was building out their 4G network and it would be here 'any day now'....blh blah blah blah. Never made it to my area and of course it will not. NOW they are spewing the LTE crap (promising that "it's coming...") and I PERSONALLY have decided that I'm not going to pay them any more $$$$ UNTIL they have their LTE in my market. It's just me. I'm a small biz owner and I believe in being rewarded for action, not promises.] So....

After 'test-driving' a T-Mobile SGII and then the HTC Rezound from Verizon, she landed on the VZ SGSIII. Very pleased and she's happy!

Now I will be joining her at VZ come Sept and I need to be considering WHICH phone I'm gonna land on. I definitely will be wanting to root what ever I end up with but I am sure gonna miss this EVO! Anybody else share even a LITTLE of my sentiments and what have you decided to do? My wife actually liked the Rezound very well but she was wanting the ICS - which was supposed to be pushed out to the Rezound phones but she needed to make her mind up before it happened and went ahead with the SIII which came with ICS already loaded up on it. I like the size of the Rezound over the SIII - it's a smidge smaller. I've been visiting the other branches of this forum for the appropriate phone and trying to decide which way I'll go.

One thing for sure, I'm not staying with SPRINT (even tho I'd go with the EVO 4G LTE in a NY sec IF they had LTE in our area)... Thoughts/comments? Thanks...:D

Its all about which carrier you get the best coverage with in your area/where you travel. I only say that because basically al the same phones are available across all carriers nowadays. They might be very slightly different, but not by much. The evo lte is called something else on att and tmobile. Im not sure if the evo lte equivalent is available on vzw, but the S3 is available across all of the major carriers. The android world is your oyster :D

If there is no kickstand.... ;)

In all seriousness, it really is the carrier/coverage that makes a device. A cheapo phone getting great signal is better than an awesome phone that can't get to google... At least, that's how I look at it.
