Root Problem installing new ROMs and creating backups using CWM 2.5.0.7

I have tried various solution none of which have seemed to worked.

I rooted my phone last year and flashed CWM 2.5.0.7 but couldn't install new ROMs or creating backups.

Problems:
- When backing up 'Error dumping boot image'
- Installing new ROMs(cyangen mod 7) aborts due to failing to write raw image.

I have installed Rom manager and tried to flash the newest version of CWM (5.X) but when I enter recovery mode it is still running v2.5.0.7.

What would be my best course of action is if all I want to do is install ROMs?

Thanks

Thanks for that. My erase size is 40,000 so i tried to follow the steps in the FAQ but when flashing Amon-RA urEVOked has the error:Error: Failed to get root. Is your firmware too new?

Any help? Sorry if this is easy!

use an earlier version of unrevoked
3.21 is the best just change the number in the url of the download link for unrevoked

That may not work. Sometimes it does but if not you may have to s-off then flash a replacement recovery
