Root Problem post root

Hi everyone

I just rooted my phone last night and everything was working fine until today. when I get a text message and I try to load it I get the following message "cannot load message". in addition to this when I plug my phone to charge it goes into car mode.

the whole car mode thing doesn't bother me but the text message thing is a big deal. does anyone have instructions as to what I should do?

If you made a nandroid backup of when it was working, I'd try to restore that. But if the problem is from rooting, then...

I'd look around for threads on how to unroot, just in case you have to do that, and knowledge is power right?

Did you try a profile /PRL update? Maybe that would help?

i would go into recovery and wipe cache, and dalvik cache. that usually works for any glitches that i come across. if that does not work maybe try wiping data as well.

I just posted this somewhere else; I hope I'm breaking no posting rules as I've never been active on a forum before today. But here's my solution.

I had this problem after rooting an evo 4g, installing the synergy rom, and restoring backed up messages using MyBackup Root. The problem went away for me after deleting all the sms Drafts that I had. Make sure you also get the empty ones with no message and no recipient.

Hope that works for someone else too.

I had the car mode issue, except it went into car mode at startup.

One problem I had is that all calls automatically went into speakermode. That is something I would check if I were you. Try it both plugged in and not.


It was a problem I had to take it and get a replacement phone for. From what I read it was a problem with a pin in the charging port.
