Root Problem SBF'ing to 2.3.340

Okay so I had Fission 2.2.2 installed on a what it seems like 30.01 Bootloader version, so I wanted to upgrade to Fission 2.3 which would require me to update to 2.3.340 first (at least that's what their site recommends to do first) so I went ahead and did that but then the phone refused to boot into anything but the Bootloader which showed errors beneath the version number. So I went ahead and SBF'ed back to 2.3.15 and I'm all booted up again.

My question is, how the hell can I upgrade to 2.3.340 and upgrade my bootloader so I can install Fission 2.3? Thanks! :)

accept the ota through settings if your on a clean 2.3.15 then reroot and flash fission
 
Just get the .320 Full SBF then SBF the System only of .340. That worked perfect for me. The .340 is System only and you will get a bootloader error unless you go to a full .320 first.
 
I was on 2.3.15 and attempted restoring all the .apk's i renamed, restored the buildprop, the OTA would not install, I tried the individual files here http://androidforums.com/droid-x-al...340-kernel-radio-image-bootloader-system.html

but the instructions are vague and my brain capacity is apparently limited....The bootloader.zip applied and updated along with the kernel versions .....after attempting the system it bootlooped....cant restore my nandroid as that boot loops....

What SBF should i be attempting? will going back to 2.3.15 work or should/ can i use the TBH SBF for the newest ???

im nervous and confused now

If you updated the bootloader then flash tbh .340 system only, they say that the 320 works as well but I have yet to try it, and since you updated your bootloader you should erase any old nandroids you have since they wont work ....hence the bootloop when you try, actually since your just in a bootloop before you do anything I just suggested, take out your battery, put it back in ,now when you go to start it up hold power and home to bring you into stock recovery, hit search button to bring up menu once you see the triangle and droid guy, use volume rockers to scroll and wipe data/factory reset then reboot, this may work as well

I already tried to wipe data/factory reset then reboot, it just keeps boot looping.

when you say to "flash tbh .340 system only"... I have the "happy holidays from TBH" SBF and also the separate file from the link above "2.3.340_system_updater.zip"...... if im stuck in boot look how can i flash the system only?

Also, there is no way I can use the 2.3.15 SBF after applying the "Bootloader_30.04_updater.zip" ? Initially after i applied the bootloader update the phone rebooted and was still on 2.3.15 .......

You would use the system only the same way, or you can try the. 320 then try to use the other bootloader zips after this is what I did, like I said I have not tried system only sbf but hear it works, and it does not sound like the bootloader zip actually applied if the phone still said 2.3.15
I would tell you to flash the 2.2 sbf but if you were on the new bootloader thays a no no

I just checked and confirmed im on the 30.04.... so to recap I can use the individual "2.3.340_system_updater.zip" with RSD and i should be good with that?

OR I can use the FULL 320 like you did and apply the updates after ..... I will try the "2.3.340_system_updater.zip" first when i get home

I did the. 320 then used the bootloader update .....you have to use a sbf file with rsd not the update zip, since you are on the current bootloader flash the. 340 system only sbf
 
I updated via the OTA to the latest update including the madden demo. I've since rooted and applied both versions of Apex that have been released so far. I never made a full back up of my phone in it's stock, original state. I want to no, how do I SBF back to the stock OTA w/ the madden demo. So I can backup and keep playing with roms worry free?
