Help Problem with accounts and sync

When I first got the LG Ally, before I knew what I was doing, I set up the phone with a random google account. Since then I have rooted the phone, flashed to Velocity .3 ROM and set it up with a different google account that I use regularly. The problem is that for some reason the new google account doesn't show an option to sync email, and when I set up K9 email with the NEW google account, overnight it reverted back to the old google account.

The really strange thing is that when I go to "Accounts and sync" there is only one google account listed, the new one I initially set up after flashing Velocity. So how is K9 reverting back to the old google account, even though it is not listed on the phone accounts?

I have even cleared cache/dalvik cache and reflashed velocity, but the same thing still happens.

Did you wipe data? Your supposed to wipe data before flashing roms too.

I have always wiped data and cache before every ROM install and before reinstalling any application.

I just like K9 better than the stock email app. But the email client really isn't the problem. When I go under "settings/accounts and sync", there is only ONE account listed, but when I then go to set the sync behavior, there is no option to sync email, just contacts and calendar. So somehow K9 is reverting back to the old google account, rather than the new one that is on the Android system.

I will try again to wipe data/cache/dalvik cache and reinstall Velocity and K9

That sounds like a problem with k9 man, and if you use gmail, the gmail app is amazing!

I'll try the gmail app out. I was referring to the stock "email" app that was included in the velocity .3 rom. Thanks.

What are you using K9 for?

K9 offers a few things that GMail does not. I use it too for those reasons. Not the least of which is that with K9 I don't have to scroll to the bottom of a long email if I want to start a reply. It also divides up the way GMail will stack a continuing email thread, so it is easier to find something I read previously that is in the center of the stack.

IIRC when I got the Ally and set it up I read where once you set it up with a specific Google Account, you can add more accounts later if you want, but ONLY the first account you entered during setup will ever sync. You may have to restore the phone to factory and start completely over to use a different Google Account.
