Root Problem with unrevoked

I try and root with unrevoked. I boot into bootloader hit hboot usb.. It reboots and says running root. Then it boots again and i get nothing. I have all the drivers installed and followed a video tutorial properly ..

Basically it tells me to goto hboot usb again and th drivers are not installed. So i rebooted the phone after the second reboot into bootloader and tried hbootusb again and it rebooted then unrevoked said could not find misc

What software version is your phone? ie do you have a new phone with the new hboot?

if yes it is not yet rootable.

if no try downloading the drivers and installing them again. also download the pc36img thingy again. you may have a corrupt zip file. what operating system are you using?

I just rooted my phone tonight using UnrEVOked3, easiest thing ever. I have a fairly new evo, bought it 2 weeks ago so I'm not sure about newer versions not working. This is all I did.

Remove HTC Sync from your SD Card
Install the Bootlegger driver
Open Unrevoked and enable USB debugging.
All the rest was an auto-run cakewalk.

I am having the same issue. My phone was ordered just last week. I am going to try removing the HTC folder on the SD card and see if that works.

It recognizes my phone, the first time it reboots it boots in HBOOT mode, i select HBOOTUSB and it then tells me that it is waiting for reboot, then it attempts to get root, then it says "there is triumph". After that it reboots again but does not boot in recovery mode. It just boots up as normal without loading the rom.

Running Windows 7 Home Premium
Android 2.2 Froyo
Kernel 2.6.32.15
Software number: 3.26.651.6
PRI version 1_77_003
HBOOT drivers are installed
HTC SYNC is uninstalled (kept the driver information)

Any help would be much appreciated. I have tried to find some more information on this but no luck.

If you need any more info let me know and i will post.

Same exact issue . Can anyone help us? Ive been fiddling with every vairible in this root

Ok everyone here is the tutorial I followed last night that got me ROOT.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsoVzMadiQE&feature=related

Here are the tools I used and the links to them.

First thing was the HBOOT Driver.
public:windows_hboot_driver_install [RootWiki]

You will also need Unrevoked3 available here for EVO.
unrevoked3 recovery reflash tool, v3.21

If you cannot get it to work following the same path I did, then you must have a newer version of the EVO and will have to wait for the to crack it.

Hope this helps.

If it said it was done it should be done... after it completes you will be on a stock rooted rom with all of your data saved. So it will appear exactly the same as prior. Check for the superuser app or download terminal emulator and type su. If you get a # you are rooted, if you get a $ you are unrooted.

I think this is what you were asking.. lol if not let me know.

And i just want to make sure you have seen this thread too http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies-extras.html

have you guys with the newer phones made sure you don't have the new hboot, which is not yet able to be rooted??????

when you power on while holding power down...the white hboot screen comes up
there should be a number indicating which version it is

2.02 is not rootable (yet)

I get the Internal error: counldnt find misc.
Android Verison
2.2
Software number
3.30.621.3
build number
3.30.651.3 CL272076 release-keys

That is correct.. Unrevoked is not yet compatible with hboot 2.02 (which comes with software version 3.30xxx)

I am having this same problem, as I have a new evo and I get this "misc" error and have hardware 0004.

How do you contact the unrevoked3 people about this? There is no way to contact them.
