Problems downloading and updating apps via market place?

I've been having problems downloading apps, and updating apps this past week.

Uk T-mobile branded handset, updated to 2.2 a few weeks ago via T-mobile ota update.

Also followed the noobs guide to force apps to AD, freeing up some extra ram.

Just having issues updating programmes like

Opera Mini
Co pilot
Google Maps

And just tried to install
TripAdvisor

And always get the download unsuccessful message

So far I've tried:

Turning phone on/off. Remove battery
Turning WiFi on/off (also tried different wifi zones (home and work))
Turning 3g on/off

Logging into Google Talk
Going into manage apps, marketplace, clear cache, clear data

Still no joy.

Any ideas?

I am having the same problem using Orange HTC Desire with Froyo 2.2. I am trying to update Google Maps.

I had similar problem few days back and it sorted itself out. Apparently it is a Market problem rather than phone or network.

Same problem. Tried to turn off and back on. Downloaded one update but another 10 still "in progress". Desire on Froyo o2, not rooted.

It's not the first time it's happened either,it happened to me a few months back, try clearing the market cache. It took me 20 mins to update 1 app earlier, constant cancelling and installing but eventually got there.

Cheers for the support guys.

I've emptied and cleared the market cache and market updater cache umpteen times tonight, and restarted several times after each clear out.

Finally managed to update three programmes after clicking stop update/download, and then restarting it.

Over and over and they finally updated all the apps.

Job's a goodun for now.

Cheers once again

Dear Google

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And if you really have to fiddle, please try not to make it worse in the process.

Kind regards
Chris

I'm on orange and i've got the same problem. Nothing really works via the market place, updates or new apps. The download either fails or it just bearly doesnt download at all

Ha ha. Instead of us all mentioning each download that fails, it may be more productive if we posted once downloads are working again ;)

Is it possible that the popularity of Android devices is overwhelming the market capacity? I find that I get major problems in the evening, when the US users would be online too, but early morning I rarely experience the same issues.

F Sake... Download problems again with the Market. What is with infinite updates of the Apps and Market getting buggered frequently? Bad combination.

I found out that clearing the Market cache and the Download Manager cache seem to help with most cases. They should be force stopped first. This is a tip I picked up somewhere.

May be a coincidence but I've just uninstalled map updates and am now able to download from market again.

I dont seem to have any problems yet with the market here, but for the record Ive never installed the latest Maps update.

Maybe you guys with problems should compare Maps and Market versions installed to try and find a pattern (if there is one).

I have no problems yet using:
Maps 4.4.0
Market 2.07

...although it could just be a random problem with the market

Cheers

Go to manage apps> find "marketplace update" and uninstall it. after that go to the marketplace app and it will make you accept the terms again and will reinstall the update. It will work fine after that.

Been playing around for a few days. Hasn't worked properly for my housemates new Desire HD since he got it which hasn't made a good impression of Android so far...

Sort it out Google :P

I have been having trouble updating apps with the market yesterday and today.

Anyone else experiencing the same?
