Problems downloading and updating apps via market place?

Everything has worked well since I uninstalled then reinstalled maps following last update.

I've noticed that I only have problems with the Market when my internal storage space is <14MB, it then won't update any apps, download any new ones and it also will not retrieve any e-mails sent to my gmail account.

Maybe it's worth looking into how much space you have left?

I have 52MB of internal storage left.

Well I'm still having trouble downloading and updating any of my apps. Been like this since Sunday morning now. I have turned the phone off and taken the battery out, cleared the cache but still no good. I am on Orange by the way.

Can anyone help me as this is really beginning to test my patience.

I followed the advice elsewhere to get everything back onto the phone (or uninstalled temporarily) and then deleted the .android_secure folder on the SD card - I had to do it from the desktop.

I rebooted and was immediately able to install/update again, both to the phone and to the card.

Seems the .android_secure folder can get corrupted. Anyway it worked first time for me - though I guess a backup wouldn't go amiss before messing around.

I did a factory reset and all appears to be well now.
