Root problems in the installing ROM process

I think we'd be best off getting the clockwork recovery to work then.

I'd download Villain 12 again, don't rename it, and place it on the root of your sdcard.

Boot to recovery (home + power), do a factory reset and any other wiping options and pick install .zip from sdcard (not apply update.zip).
 
when i boot into recovery there are no options to do anything its just the phone with triangle and ! not even 1 option like update.zip or wipe or anything
 
its ok i went back on rom manager and it said clock recovery was broken , but i have fixed it ...

i will be android genius after this lol

i am going to download villain 12 again and do it that way tho so will report back in 10

my connection is slow so will be half a day lol

also i clicked villain updater and manually checked it says incr fixed apns list , what is that , it also says at top villainrom updater running villainrom 9 ... is it not meant to be 12

do u know how i could get planet 3 back so i can check usage / bills etc

is there something on here to download apps 2 sd card

then im gonna have a go at over/underclocking lol

Copy all folders from your 2GB card to PC. You'll want to copy them back to your 8GB card but first you really want to partition the card so as you can install apps to it. :)

That kernel is a cracker; it scales really smoothly and gave me noticeably better battery life than any 1.5-based kernels I'd tried. Just be careful not to get too ambitious - don't try anything more radical than 245/691 until you're sure your handset can cope with those freqs.

Sweet :D I knew we'd get there in the end. V12 is actually the 9th villain rom, but since they skipped a few numbers in the names, so you'll see a few references to 9.

I partitioned using the amon ra recovery image. I think you can also do it from the pc too though.
 
ok i got the option partition sd card

and it came up with 4 things when i pressed it

partition sd
repair sd: ext
sd:ext2 to ext3
sd:ext3 to ext 4

which do i choose

Which recovery menu are you on? That sounds almost the same as amon ra.

- Ok, well first backup any data on the card
- Then pick the partition option. It will ask you for the size of the EXT partition, which is where the apps go. 500MB max is fine (would be impressive to fill that much). If it asks, you want the SWAP partition to be 0MB, since you don't need one. The rest becomes the FAT partition, which is the normal SD card partition.

Then if you want, you can upgrade the ext parition from ext2 to ext3 or 4. I would avoid 4 though, its not compatible with everything. I'm not even sure upgrading to 3 is necessary either tbh.

Once that's done apps2sd kicks in on boot.

choose 'partition sd', 0mb swap, 500mb fat. the rest ext.
and thats it.
 
im quite confused.com

ok i clicked partition sd it say

0mb:none after i change to 0 from 32 i think it was
ext2 size 256mb

there is nothing that says fat or anything lol
 
i think i might of got it but wanna make sure

swap size 0mb: done
ext2 size 512mb :set
fat32 size = remainder

cont partitioning press home

or am i totally wrong lol
 
right it said sone so now if i download summing off market once installed i should be able to look in linda manager and see it in sd card , so i will do it now
 
No, unfortunately it doesn't work like that. You can't actually see the ext partition on the phone or the pc.

However, this link shows you how to test it's working.
 
clicked on linda manager after download clicked on sd card and the thing i downloaded is not in there

that looks like a mission xyro . i will just believe its working a ok lol , if it ever gets to a point where it says it cant take no more then i will question it
