anyone have problems tethering with their phones? it shows up on my laptop and connects fine but i can't get any internet off it. anyone else have this problem?

Go into your wifi nic on your laptop and see what IP address you were served by the tether app. Maybe consider ipconfig /release and ipconfig /renew from the command line. I assume you are using windows.

never had it working. its a stock kernal. wierd thing is, is that it connects to it fine. it just won't connect to the net.

By any chance did you originally set up wireless teather with a different sd card in place than the one you're using now? Like maybe right after rooting but before changing cards? I did that and my AndroidTeather folder was on my POS card I used to obtain root. Just moved the folder onto my new card and now all is well.

nope same card. i don't have an android tether folder though, should i make one?

Are we both talking about a rooted phone and wireless teather here? There should have been a folder dropped on your SD card upon achieving root called Android.teather.

I had the same problem you just need to have the android.tether and the .bin file on your sd card and it works.

hmm do you know where to get that again? reason i prob don't have that is because i'm using the wireless tether app that i originally had on my moto droid.

http://goo.gl/mfhc the android.tether file is in this zip you actually push the file to the original sdcard you use to root.
