Problems with Facebook Sync?

So i got my brand new nexus yesterday (finally!) coming over from the Incredible. I'm still making my way around, getting used to all the changes.

I tried to add my Facebook account to "accounts & sync" and the first time i tried it gave me a line to log in and put my password. but nothing happened. And now when i try and add the facebook account to sync it doesn't even register. I get no login screen and it just goes back to the sync screen without making any changes.

anyone know what is going on or how to fix it?
 
I had the same question. And I was told Google and FB are having a spiff and so since this being a Google phone. Google isn't allowing us to sync fb contacts but fb still works fine.

If I'm wrong someone correct me, but that's what I was told on this site.
 
If a Facebook app doesn't fix that, then I imagine that will be corrected in the next OTA update as I am no longer having that problem with the custom ROMs on a rooted phone. In the meantime, if you are willing to spend 99 cents, HaxSync on the market offers the ability to sync your contacts with Facebook.
 
lol i have something similar to this, my facebook authentication fails on a daily basis, and i have to keep signing back in


sometimes its because i put the phone on airplane mode for 8 hours while im at work, other times i could be at home and it do it.

If it's not the OTA, then it must be fixed in AOKP M2 as I have my Facebook account syncing correctly. However HaxSync works well too -- I used it when I first got the phone.

facebook no longer syncs contacts, it actually stopped doing that a long time ago in an update, our new roms however, bypass that and allow it to be synced, thats why.
