I purchased pdanet full version for my evo so I may tether my internet. I tried to install it on laptop and. It doesn't work my laptop doesn't read my phone when I use my usb cable. Just to double check to see if I was wrong I tried to sync music to my evo just to see if laptop would read it and it doesnt. What can I do to fix my tethering problem how can I get my laptop to read my phone?

Its possible that you have a bad usb cable. When you plug your phone into your computer, if you slide down your notifications, does your phone say "charge only"? If so, when you click "charge only", do you have an option that says "disk drive"? If you do, select disk drive, then see if you can access your phones contents from you computer.
when you plug in your phone does the light go on for charging? if not then it might be a bad cable. my phone can be picky with my laptop. i find for whatever reason that if i first connect the usb side of the cable first into the computer then connect my phone, that the computer will be able to see my phone. but if i do it the other way around it will not see it.
