Root Problems with Wifi Tethering

I'm having problems finding a working version of either Barnacle or Wifi Tethering.

The network will start up through my phone, but when I try to connect with my PC I don't have internet access. I've tried multiple versions of each app and nothing has helped.

Just wondering what else I might need to do so that my PC can connect.

I'm running just a rooted stock 2.2.1 by the way.

Are you going on the PC that your trying to connect under network shearing center? does the phone show up there for you to click the connect button? both Barnacle and wifi tethering work fine for me. Make sure you grant both programs access in superuser. Also use a unencrypted connection first to make sure you can get a connection.

I had that problem too, I switched to Wireless Tether for Root Users

I just use Wired Tether. Yet, although it's plugged in to my laptop, the battery still drains while it's charging.
