Root process com.android.systemui stopped unexpectedly - PROBLEM FIXED!

Oh dude... I'm sorry, I was half asleep this morning leaving for school when I typed that.

What I meant was I got the swype.apk from my wifes phone and installed it using Astro... it installed just fine, but I guess it didnt take because whenever I loaded it, it said the process stopped unexpectedly. I figure it might've not installed in the proper location or that being installed through Astro, might not've given it the proper rights or something. I havnt gotten the chance to try the method you've given me yet, I'm about to right now though... I'm assuming I take the zip file and just flash it using cwm?

Oh btw, do you clear the cache and dalvik when flashing anything?
 
Alright guys, so not only did I freakin get my swype back but I also managed to figure out how to get the CIA loading screen on my phone from the orange crush theme!! XD I'm hella happy... you have no idea... its made my day and I have no one to thank but all of you! You've turned my headache into awesomeness... thank you all! Now hopefully I can stop bugging you guys lol

Still curious though, in order to clear my cache I need to clear my data as well... but my dalvik doesnt require it... so is that enough or do I always need to clear both?

No only clear data when you are changing roms or just want to reset.

Thanks again guys. I had told Mex this before, but as I had previously mentioned I'm into hard/soft mod xboxes and on all the forums I've ever been on for gaming, everyone is a-holes. This is seriously the nicest forum I have ever been to and I would suggest it to anyone I know, you guys are all so chill... its awesome. You don't judge people, rather they're noobs or not.

Luckily this forum is extremely strict and they don't play. I wish all forums were like this. Dealing with people and their "ruler of the universe attitude" all day gets old.

Game (whether system or apps or just a particular game) forums are literally the worse of the worse for........ Those... Types... Of users......
 
didn't want to post a new thread since this topic is similar to my issue but lately I've been having an issue that i haven't had in the past. whenever I flash one of my themes for testing and what not and I want to go to settings, or my launchers settings, a popup with the same error would show up; except it'll say settings rather then systemui. I've tried using a stock deodex system.apk, I've tried Superusers ICS style apk, I've even tried taking the dang apk from two other themes but still have the same problem. anyone know what it could be?

Don't change the connectivity icon and see what happens. :D
 
sorry I was working, but I didn't make any changes to the Settings.apk. its not even in my themes .zip, I tested out my theme and got a settings error so I added a deodex stock Settings.apk to the .zip and had the same problem, so I tried Superusers ICS Settings.apk and I even took the apk from two other themes and added them to my .zip and had the same issue with each attempt :/

just for s/g, I would try using uot. Load up the framework_RES and SystemUI, make a minor change like window animations. Make sure the .9 patch is checked and submit.

I had a very similar issue with porting a few themes, especially BeastCandy. Turned out it was a bad .9. UOT is quick and easy and if it works, you know most likely it was a bad .9.png. after flashing the uot zip, just rip the framework_RES and SytstemUI from your device and re-package them in your themes zip.

Just throwing out some ideas.
