I personally have decided to give rooting and flashing roms a miss on this phone.

When I got this phone, I decided it was time to root and flash roms on my old HTC Desire, as I had nothing to lose. Everyone was saying how amazing custom roms were, and how much better a rooted phone was with custom ROMS, boy where they wrong lol.

My Desire was much better stock, and now I am stuck with a HTC Desire I Can't return back to it's original state and is equal, if not a little worse than it was when I bought it.

Can't say that this amazing, relatively bug free phone, would gain any benefits at all from rooting.

/My opinion.

Root doesnt mean you have to use a custom rom, plus root is removed when you update the firmware.

It does keep a counter which logs how many time you flash using odin though but you can reset that. Can't comment on the Desire or HTC devices though.

Not everyone needs to root, it's for advanced users.
