Profiling terrorists

We knew they were out to kill us. They freely made radio transmissions explicitly telling us that they were out for revenge. That's why you need to watch it.

But you claim (and I believe this) that we had names. If we had the names, how is anything else relevant? We had the names, these people were allowed on planes without much scrutiny, and tragedies happened. It seems like those allowing them to get into the air dropped the ball if it was known that these people associated themselves with muslim terrorist groups.

If they (al-quaeda) sp? happened to be Christians should we keep closer tabs on those wearing crosses around their necks? Would communities be talking about banning christian places of worship?

I'm sure we all agree that security is a priority. However we don't want to profile. If we profiled in other areas, well we wouldn't be American now would we? Ex: I'm Hispanic. What if they were to suspect me of being one of those Mexican drug lords or w/e. I'd be going through some bs on a regular basis. I'm sure your pov is understood but some don't think that's the right approach. If your ethnicity did something I'm sure you wouldn't want to be constantly inconvenienced just because you look the part.

In closing I'll say this. The purpose of the PCA section is to discuss current affairs. Typically, everyone haar their own opinion; that's ok. Typically, people won't change their opinion; that's ok too. If people reach the point where they feel that if they are going to be banned if they say anything else, perhaps it would be wise to stop responding and, perhaps, stop weighing in on PCA discussions until they can be done clearly and without personal feelings clouding judgment.

Regardless of who is right or wrong, I think we can all agree that this discussion isn't going anywhere

/thread.
