From what I've read I'm under the impression that you need "Root" access to take screen shots. Of course I could be wrong...

I don't know of a program to do it without root but you can do this with the SDK. You can refer to this post for details:

I've tried it on the X. I just ran the setup.exe from my DX in place of the HTC Sync like you would otherwise use on an Incredible.

if you have the dolphin hd browser. there is a add on called screen cut. (not sure if it works with a different browser) and if your wondering, i'm becoming a big fan of dolphin. i now use it to open FB, directly. (im not a fan of the FB apps)

all i got right now is.
AdBlock plus

bookmarks to SD. saves bookmarks on SD. nice if you switch your SD card between devices.

You do need root. There is no app to do it otherwise, just using your computer and the SDK. When we get root, just download DroCap2 for free and have at it!
