I want to place my order online today at Verizonwireless for new Droid X to get in before new tiered data plans come in to effect end of July.....

Can anyone confirm if any promo codes still exist and if so what are they?

I went to my local Verizon store and asked if they would honor the SMART30 code. The manager took $50 off the purchase - $30 for the (waived) activation, and a $20 discount on top of that.

But yes, to my knowledge, the SMART30 code still works online.

It's expired online now....as of 7/18/10.

I think the only ones that work right now are freeovernt (free overnight shipping) and acc20ch (20% off accessories). Can only use one of them. 2-day shipping should be free anyways.
 
Never mind, none of them worked. I wanted to make sure I got my order in and set up my unlimited data plan before month end as rumor has it that they will be moving to a tiered plan soon......

Verizon said they will have tiered data pricing for 4G devices... since the DX is 3G you will be ok ;)
 
That's interesting clos, I went in to my nearest Verizon store to play with the Droid X today and they mentioned that I had better get my phone quickly as they believed that there were going to be some changes in the data plans over the next 4-6 weeks!!!!

Perhaps Verizon employees are just trying it on.....

Never mind, I have been sitting on the fence for months debating when to update my POS Palm Centro, I was going to order the original Droid as I liked the idea of a real keyboard, but having played around with the soft keyboard on the Droid X, especially in landscape mode I can safely say that I could type faster and more accurately than my Blackberry Bold 9700, plus the screen size if just perfect, I can sell my ipod touch (16gb) and just have the one device....

Roll on 3 Aug.....
 
Tried it just over an hour ago on the Verizon website when I ordered my new Droid X and I can assure you that it did not work for me.....

Doesn't really matter on the scale of things, always worth a try though....
