Help Proximity Detector

I'm having a small issue when I'm on a call and I need to use the keypad to enter numbers into a voice prompt. When I move the phone from my ear out to use the keypad, the screen sometimes turns off and I have to move the phone vertically again, then down horizontally to get it to come back on.

Does anyone else have this problem? I wish there was a setting to turn this feature off and allow me to turn the screen off by pressing the power button.

I have not found a way to disable but do you regularly calibrate your g sensor? I think it is in display settings.

Duh! <smacks head> I recalibrate it and it does seem to help. Thanks!
