Hi, I am working on an update zip you guys can flash over n00b ROM from boost mobile to get mms/phone issues worked out.

I need someone who's has installed clockworkmod (custom recovery, cwm) to try downloading n00b VI, install, reboot, then flash this zip (install from cwm), then do a factory data reset, reboot and let me know if you can do mms and if you can make calls.

Please post detailed issues if any.

Ok so i cheated a little and took the update files and updated your rom prior to installation so that i could save a step... Worked like a charm mms and calls as well as roming options...A1... i think you can delete the activation4005.apk from the system as well...
 
I am going to send another zip that outs some of the files back from my rom to narrow it down to only what's necessary from the public mobile rom
 
Im running the noob vi I downloaded the file in here tried to install zip and couldn't am I not doing something right? Is installing the zip not the same as flashing?
 
Hey bobo Did i say i like your rom... What would it take to get the ics camera+ and the swype beta keyboard from the warp cream sandwich rom it was my favorite rom till i tried yours... but those two apks are really nice. i like the camera app on your rom but the ics camera+ has the panoramic feature and swype is just great when your drunk..:p

Which files exactly, I get an error the regular way. How do I "cheat" and do it your way?

I just want to verify, all of you had previously installed clockworkmod recovery, correct? that is a prerequisite I listed above.

can you please try flashing the zip I posted vs updating the n00b install zip?

I wanted to test the zip as well.
 
I updated the zip, let's try another round guys, you should have received the error you received because my script wasn't quite right the first time, please flash it again and post results. Thank you!

PS. this is a testing thread, so please don't expect me to get this perfect the first time!

Yes, I have it, as well n00b installed

Tried the new zip: status 6 error again

I hope no one is expecting you to get it right the first time :P , but im sure everyone appreciates your effort in trying to bring us this!

Thank you, just updated the zip, can you try downloading again and flashing?

Zip works!
- no more activation notice
- mms seems to work (tried sending out, not in)
- call still seems to be hit & miss
(idk if im crazy but it seems that my signal goes lower when the screen is active. so i tried calling in when screen was off, worked most of the time, and the opposite holds true as well/ possible coincidence though)

also signal indicator is now at 1x (i forgot what it was before (maybe 3g? maybe the same))
 
Yup new zip works, however my signal is now stuck at 1x signal rather than 3g. The activation no longer pops up when the phones boots which is great. However under mobile network I could previously select CDMA/EVDO and that would boost my connection/signal to 3g, now that option isn't there and I'm stuck at 1x.

new zip posted, thank you smartmanvartan for the tip on 3g issues caused by one of the boost apks. Flash it again, let me know if 3g and the settings menu are fixed.
 
Wow, quick update, thanks! I redownloaded it, but it's the same. Settings menu is the same, and stuck on 1x.

edit: maybe this bit of information is important; the stock public mobile rom actually had the same settings for your connection as we have after applying your public mobile fix (cannot select cdma/evdo). But 3g worked with stock rom. After installing a boost mobile rom my connection dropped to 1x, I then found additional settings allowing me to select cdma/evdo, and that fixed it returning to 3g.
