Purchases from android market

When I purchase from the android market, am I able to re-download them later if something happens to my phone? Is there a backup file saved to the SD card for later retrieval?

Here is another question for ya... if I had another phone with another gmail account that I have things from the android market purchased... would I be able to use both accounts on my X so I can get those downloads on this phone?

Don't ask why I made a whole new account for my X lol

Every device that you register using the same gmail account will have access to all the same purchased apps.

I think I understand it. If I were to lose my phone, I would register my new one with my gmail account and re-download my purchases...right?

Yup. No different to when I bricked my DX (twice) and had to SBF back to stock. That was like having a brand new phone sent to me. It asked me to either create a Gmail account, or enter an existing one. I entered the one I setup the phone on it the first place, and it took it back to where I was, pre-ROMing. In other words, it added all my apps back, all my contacts were back on it, and set up the phone the way it was set up before I started to play with different ROMs.

Now then do you have Titanium Backup? That app is the best at saving your apps + data. But you have to be rooted, and it stores the info on your SD card. So you might be able to insert your SD card from your other phone and get them off of it and placed on your new phone.

At least I think that's the way it works... does anyone else know? They don't store in a cloud do they? That would actually be very nice indeed. So that if you lost your phone and got a new one, you could download Titanium Backup from the Market and it would have all your info saved without having to have your old SD card.

Anyway, the reason I brought it up is because say you have Angry Birds downloaded (like I know you do), and you're up to level 300 or whatever... if you lose your phone, or brick it and have to SBF back to stock, yes the app itself will be stored in the Google cloud, and will reload onto your device upon entering your Gmail account number. But it won't have any of the data saved, so you'll have to start back over from the beginning. And it'll be like that for all your apps.

But TiBU saves your apps + the data as well. So when you do a restore with it, you'll still be on level 300.

With TiBu it saves on your SD Card, but if you have a dropbox account and dropbox set-up on your phone you can have it sync with dropbox as well. Just about the same as having it stored in a cloud.

you will be all right...i have my gmail account on my DX, and on my Rooted Nook color. the only thing i am unsure about is if i wanted to sign into it with another account, will i loose all the stuff i already downloaded?

With 2.2, it will even download them for you. I went from a rooted Eris to the Droid X. I picked it up on my lunch break. I wanted to show it off when I got back to my desk, and was going to download an app that I had been using. That's when I realized that they were already all there.
