Like some others I've seen on this forum, I think a push-the-button-to-unlock AND a move-the-puzzle-piece-to-unlock-again is redundant. I saw where there is an app that will turn off the screen without locking it but isn't anyone else worried that after a few months of use, pushing the power button all the time is going to wear it out? Is there no app to turn on the screen by simply touching it, or touching one of the 4 icons at the bottom of the phone, and THEN moving the puzzle piece??

WidgetLocker will let you set any button to wake, but only physical buttons like the volume rocker or power, not soft buttons. You can turn off the lock screen all together with a phone string http://androidforums.com/fascinate-tips-tricks/188072-android_secret_code-string-revealed.html if that is what you are looking for.
