Root Push causes bootloop. Strange.

If I take out framework.res and make a simple change to it and push it back. my phone will bootloop.

But if I take that same file and throw it into the original ROM it came out of and flash the ROM everything boots up fine.

Why is that? I've tried settingsUI too just to see if it was limited to framework and it does the same thing.

Did you reboot after you pushed it?

Yeah. It just bootloops.

But if I take the file and add it to the ROm it self and just flash it everything works fine.

I've never had a problem pushing files before until now.

That is very odd. I do it all the time with my Revo and my Spectrum and don't have any problems. lol. A whole lot easier than any other way!!! Are you just using standard adb?

Im using android commander to push and pull.

What Im doing is trying to rearrange the icons on the status bar in the broken out ROM.
Ill make a change and push the framework but it wont boot.

Ill then take that same framework and change it out in the ROM, flash the rom and it boots up fine. No clue as to why.

Could be a problem with Android Commander? I've never used it. This is how I do it after cd'ing into the folder with both my apk and adb

Code:
adb remount
adb push Framework-res.apk /system/framework/Framework-res.apk
adb reboot

and that always works for me.

Is there anyway you could edit the systemUI and Framework APKs and put the icons how they normally would be? I'll shoot you 5 bucks for your troubles.

I've been at it all day and the only thing Ive got is the clock on the right side. haha

Which all icons are you wanting? I have removed the Alarm Clock icon (which is a pain in the butt to put back, lol it's in the smali code of the SystemUI), and the annoying privacy icon. Or are you just wanting the ones that are there back in order?

Yeah just the normal icons that are on there in the "normal" order.

Clock on Right then battery, service and 4G. That's the normal order i think.

I can change the icons and what not later. It's just the xml editing that is killing my face and brain right now. lol.

I can't see straight anymore because of it. lol

Therefore I have a gained a NEW found respect for you guys, more so than I already have. Damn this shit is aggravating. lol

Yeah if you could do that I'd give you something for your troubles. I can handle everything else after that. :D
