I'm on Orange but don't use Orange email.
Do you currently use Orange email or are you just setting it up now so you can use it on your Desire? My point being, if you want a good email account, don't use Orange.
I use Hotmail on my Desire and have no issues with push email.
Can you not link your orange account via the normal 'setup' program in the program list?

Hey mate, did you ever get this sorted? I'm having the same issue. Log onto orange world and navigate through to subscribe, which when clicked says will text a message but never does.

I found Orange email to be problematic in the past, so I don't use it.
I have a Gmail account that set itself up automatically on my Desire, plus 6 personal POP email accounts that I set up in just a few mins using the email providers POP settings.
Not sure if any of the accounts are push, but I've set the poll interval on each account depending on their importance and it works very well. The data usage is minimal because I only download headers until I know the message is important enough to download.
