Help Push notifications on S2 don't work at all

I am new to the fourm thing So, excuse me for any violation I may fall in.


I have bought my galaxy S2 GT-I9100 with Android version 2.3.5. 1 week ago after using iPhones for ages.

After using my S2 for a week I noticed there is no push notifications that should appear on the icons like Facebook/ facebook messenger/ Gmail/ Email/ Phone(missed calls)/ Twitter/ Whats app/ google+/ and others

So, I think -technically- the problem doesn't come from a specific app.

I tried all the settings:
1-Turned on the the background data and auto sync in the (Accounts and Sync) in the Settings menu.
2- I enabled the sync several times from inside each application
(Although this is not sync and should be Real time)
3- I uninstalled Facebook for example to see if the re-installation fixes the issue.

By the way, I have only Messaging that display push notification.

In the end, I want to know if this is a common problem or not ? Is it a problem with my device( I don't think so) ? Does android already support push notifications or not ?
Is there a solution for it ? if so, Feel free to inform me with any of your suggestions, opinions or answers.

So, Can tell me what is your android version and Galaxy S2 model ?
if there is an application you use, can you tell me its name ?
Do you suspect specific action you have done that enabled the push notification ?

Notifications don't appear on the individual app icons, but in the status bar at the top of the display, provided of course you have notifications enabled in the app's settings.
 
I just tried to Reset my phone to factory now and found the Email app (Not Gmail app) and the Social Hub Show notifications with the number of unread Emails.

I just wanted the Facebook app to notify me for every comment or post whether in the Notification bar or Push... Because the Facebook app give option to notify me for Messages, Friend requests and Event invites only ... Can it be ?

Other applications are all fine and notify me in the notification bar.

Notification bar. It doesn't show in the apps. Pull down the notification bar, tap on the push message and it will go to the app anyway.

The closest app that shows is the social hub (or similar), which I feel is not much use and for show only. When you tap on it you just see how many emails, sms etc under each account. It still brings you to the relevant app and all it does is group them together. The notification bar is much neater and better, so much that now Apple have to have that in the IP4s.

(Thought when you mention you weren't getting notification, you meant not seeing it in the pull down notification bar.)
