Putting Apps on homescreens

Lately when I try to put an app onto one of the home screens it just disappears.

When I had folders on my home screen it would put the app in the folder (even if I was trying to put the App on a different screen than the folders.

I figure this is a bug of some sort?

I also tried to put a "shortcut" on a homescreen by pressing down and going through that method, and it did the same thing.

Poof! Nothing there!

I am trying to delete contacts on my Nexus S and when I tap on the delete contact button, it tells me that I can't delete it in "read only" but I can hide it.

I don't know how I am in "read only" or how to change that... so that I can erase these contacts!!!

Please help!

K

The ones that are read only are Facebook or Twitter contacts, there is no way to delete them in your contact list. The only option is to unfriend/unfollow if you want them deleted. Otherwise the best option is to hide them

You probably shouldn't edit your original post. Took me a while to figure out why an earlier reply didn't answer your revised question. Best to just add a new reply to your thread. Anyway, you asked:

I've encountered this bug a couple of times on my Nexus S. A power cycle (full power off & then back on) cured it for me.

One time I hit this bug the icon really did disappear. Another time it was dropping into a folder & I didn't realize it until a day or two later when I had about 5 copies of the same icon in one of my folders.
