Root Putting things back!!

I'm a flashoholic..The battery chase is usually the case. However I just like trying new roms..Plus I'm doing my best to restrain to grabbing a Iphone 4. (I'd definetely miss the screen size)..Anyways back to topic. Everytime I finish flash a ROM and restore apps settings email accounts back to the way I had a new ROM comes out, (not a bad thing).

I have titanium back up and its not a big deal restoring the apps but my issue is I want apps put back on the pages the way I previously had them. Basically I want something to do a screenshot back to what I had.

I heard before Titanium can do this but dont see the option. I also have the Bootloader application, (I dont use it),but my issue is strictly for restoring things exactly back in place. I recently flashed to Mik 2.60 put all this stuff on the phone and then read someone had good life on 2.59 and that 2.61 is out...I'm just trying to make things easier.. Thanks in advance!

When you get things set up the way you want create a nandroid. Put that nandroid on your computer and rename it so that wou know what ROM and version it is when in case want to go back to it. Then if you flash something else and end up finding out during that time theres an update for the original rom just nandroid back and apply the patch.

Unfortunately theres no program I know of that will allow you to save the locations of widgets, apps, ect on your homescreen from ROM to ROM.

Thanks for the Nandroid info. Thats how I usually back up my custom roms, (which always works perfect). However I should of been more clear...The second part of your reply answered my q though. I was looking to save the locations and put them back the same way on a brand new ROMS. I'm surprised nobodys has made an app like this yet...

I'm not aware if its even possible. With different versions of sense and AOSP, along with different OS' I'm sure it'd be complex.

I agree though, that would be a nice feature if someone could figure it out.

I know aamikam says a full wipe is always recommended for MikG, but you could just wipe dalvik and cache partition and flash the Rom. See if it borks things. If so nandroid, if not enjoy. :D

Backing up the Sense launcher may not be possible, but doing a search in the market, you may come up with something

LauncherPro I know will back up home. So, running launcherpro as your launcher, then in the settings, you can backup home. Then when you wipe your phone, reinstall launcherpro from the market, then relaunch your saved home launcher with all your widgets, apps.... on the screens.

Absolutely correct sir!

I forgot about this option with launcher pro, haven't used it in quite a while. This does work, and it saves your wallpapers, custom icons, layout everything. My only gripe is that LP hasn't had an update in a long while.

I haven't been on an AOSP rom for a while:p:(:) I'm enjoying the different developments of Sense 3.5 too much:D

Thanks for the info! I didnt see anything n market to back up sense like LauncherPro. However I'll give flashing MIK Rom 2.59 over 2.6 and see if its stable. I'll report back..Would save me a bunch of trouble. I was having good luck with Infected but would do random bootloops randomly so went back to MIKS
