QIK back on the Android Market BUT......

Qik is back on the market but when I installed it, it didnt update the version I had, it just installed another one. Also its a new layout but no video calls. Someone try and install it and let me know what you get. Thanks

I am still getting the "you are not currently connected to the network." I uninstalled the old and installed the new one.

***Edit*** Seems I still have the old one.. Trying again..

^ I'm getting the same thing with the blue qik. With the orange qik I can log in but then then the connection state keeps cycling from offline->connecting->online->offline.....when i try to stream/record.

They've had a good bit of time to test this software and it's completely useless at this point. I mean i'm supposed to make video calls with their software?!? Hello fring.

I now have a Qik Orange AND a Qik Blue. WTF? Also, neither one of them appears to have the ability to make a video call. Completely worthless. I can guaranty that I'm not paying $5/mo for a "premium" Qik service. Have they tested this AT ALL?

The blue now works to stream live video, but as far as video calling, not so much. I would recommend Fring.. Works great.

Fring works great with Skype. Tested it this morning but dam the contact list in Fring sucks Donkey Balls - doesn't tell you what service your friend is on so its hunt and peck.

how do you get fring to work? I installed fring on both my and my wife's Evo but when I try to call via skype out, it says to include the country code. I'm in the US so don't I just add the 1 in front of her cell #? Never made voip calls before.

curious. were you not able to stream with the orange logo? also to others who have installed the one from the market, do you see two qik icons also?

Yes, I get two logos, one orange, one blue. I didn't really see any added functionality with blue... I just downloaded and installed fring and its very obvious how to do video chat. Qik is worthless.

streaming sucks.. there's about a 30 second delay. Useless app.

Needs to be fixed before I decide to re-install it.

Qik missed the bus and it looks like they still can't get their act together. screw 'em. moving on (to Fring)

I was NOT able to stream using the orange logo. It would record video, but I never got the streaming confirmation I got with the blue. I was on my qik site, and it was like I was doing nothing... The blue allowed me to see what I was streaming on the computer..

they changed the Qik app on the marketplace, if you guys were lucky and got the old "Qik for HTC EVO 4G" , that version .52 (i believe) had the video calling feature.

They eventually pulled it for a day, and put the newer "Qik Video" now..and that doesnt seem to work and gives us 2 Qik icons. 1 orange (default) and 1 blue (new Qik Video).

Do you have that working one installed? If so we can try to find a way to back it up and download it

once the blue Qik was installed it didnt matter if i longed into the orange or blue it took me to the same thing(the updated Qik) they added video mail and the ablity to delete the video from online and your phone.

I too don't understand all the previous hype about Qik.. Sharing clips? That's what YouTube is good for. Video calls? Everyone I know is already on Skype, and Fring does that.

What exactly does Qik offer that the above two services don't already?

What do you guys want to use Qik for? From (admittedly short) time I have played with it - it seems totally pointless.
