Quadrant Benchmark..

you can use setcpu (on the market)

it's for my captivate not the fascinate YET. xda has a one click lag fix version with the cpu overclock for the other galaxy s. i'm sure the fascinate should have the feature soon. but to give you an idea of the quadrant score with the 1.2ghz overclock is 2600-2700.

This is mine after closing all apps, doing Lag Fix, Rooted, and SetCPU set at 1000Mhz and on Performance.

Coming from the DROID(1) set at 1.2Ghz, I noticed no lag either, but I did notice an increase after the Lag Fix.

My Eris wasn't rooted (therefore not overclocked), therefore the Fascinate is like going from a horse and buggy to a crotch rocket.

I can't imagine being much quicker.

Just wanted to let you know that being Rooted doesn't mean you're able to overclock. You have to have an Overclocking Kernel installed to overclock, and have SetCPU installed to control it. Even if you Root, you're running the same exact speed.

I finally rooted this thing this evening and went ahead with the lag fix. Before I did this my high benchmark was averaging 817, and now I've hit 2203. I'm loving this phone more and more the more that I tweak little things here and there.

OK, here's something different.

I was at 905ish yesterday. "Your Device" was below the "Samsung Galaxy S"

Today I am at 880 after a full day. "Your Device" is above the "Samsung Galaxy S"

Go figure!

Thanks Jedii, the message said to use something else if you were using a Galaxy S device so that threw me off. I just got 2129.

Edit: 2227 after changing from Conservative to Performance.

highest i could get using touchwiz was 888.. i installed launcher pro (praise jesus) & somehow got 905 - 910 first try .. (i forgot exact number)

Okay, for those of you wondering, why in the world is DroidX scoring higher than my beautiful Samsung Galaxy S phone on Quadrant, don't be alarmed. The Quadrant score is misleading. Our Samsung Galaxy S phones are indeed the fastest android phones on the market.

You see, the Quadrant application comes in two varients. One is free, one is a paid professional version. The free verision which many of us are using, is misleading. What this version does is it lumps a final total score, without any type of breakdown. On the other hand, the paid version, actually breaks down your final score, into cpu performance, gpu, I/O...etc.

Okay, so the reason DroidX is giving a false impression that it may be faster than Galaxy S is because of I/O. As many of you know, the Galaxy S phone has a lag issue relatd to I/O. As a result, we get a lower score on Quadrant. However, when a lag fix is applied, we leave DroidX in the dust.

Both the developer of Quadrant and androidandme have confirmed the galaxy s has the fastest GPU and CPU.

Simply put, when you run the paid version of Quadrant, you will see that the score for gpu and cpu is faster on the galaxy s. The only reason droidx gives a total higher score, is because of I/O inflating the score.

Great stuff. Yeah with the lag fix the SF is in that 2200 neighborhood on 2.1. I wonder what we can expect with 2.2. Somewhere in here someone with an EVO on 2.2 and the lag fix was claiming 3300 or something ridiculous
