I reset my phone last night, rooted it, froze some stock apps and got this for a Quadrant score:

what settings are you running? are you OC'd? did you run it on a fresh restart? does your phone seem to be running slow? if it's running ok, dont put too much stock into your quadrant score.
well, i got a replacement phone because my phone was affected with a bug that affected .1% of all launch x phone's screens, and i noticed it was way slower than my old one, but i just figured it needed a few days to warm up like my launch x. but i just rebooted, and got an 883, and a 1209, so i have no idea wtf is going on.
got a task killer, used it, 1023 or something close. Going to the VZW store tomorrow first thing.
suck. might as well try a hard reset. that's the first thing they'll suggest. you'll lose all the apps you downloaded, but the contacts will come back when you sign back into google.
you'll have to re-activate, but that's easy. just hit option 1 when you hear it start talking and let it do the rest.
eh, i will just get apps to sd before i do that, easy fix lol. BTW, how does one hard reset on the x? i dont really see a little button you have to push with a pen anywhere.
1.) do you have the advanced task killer? if not, get it.
2.) if that isnt the problem, i would recommend doing a factory reset (in the privacy section of settings). if the problem persists, i fear you may need yet another phone...
hope you get this issue resolved.
Ignore #1.
Android handles its tasks very well. A task killer is just another app that takes up valuable clock cycles.
GET RID OF THE TASK KILLER.
let your phone run without it, and watch the difference.
If you download quality apps made by quality devs, then you never need a task killer.
Just because an app shows up on a task killer list, DOES NOT MEAN IT IS RUNNING. Its taking "empty" space so that it is ready as SOON as you launch it. Task killers negate this feature and thus, make your phone slower in the process.
Dont let the placebo effect fool you.
i have never felt the need for one before, i got it like...10 min ago? lol. it didnt help at all so i already uninstalled it. BTW now my phone has done a 1200, a 786(one of those low fluke scores, unimportant), and a 1206. idk if i will send it back or not, maybe i wait for froyo and then do it.
1200 is on the high side of the average score. you dont need a new phone.
Unless you are getting random reboots, and your phone is "lagging" I wouldnt worry about it.
Dont take so much stock in benchmarking apps. Lots of variables go into them depending on which apps you are running.
I have heard from others that a task killer is not needed on the X but on some other devices it is. My friend had an ally for about a few days. He got a D2 earlier today and he loves it. He was always saying how INSANELY slow the ally was especially after playing with my x

I guess you are not in product development, J/K.yeah, i figured with 512MB ram it wasnt necessary, but with how much it totally improved my ally, i figured it would be worth giving up the clock cycles on my x to gain the extra memory. i have a number of phones, and i primarily use my ally for business calls, and not much else. before i had the atk, it lagged so much that sometimes i would miss a call before i could get it to answer.
i had a droid 2 for a while for another work phone (the first droid i was able to use for work email, because of the pin and remote wipe) and i never installed it on that phone, but 2.2 seemed to run better in general anyway.
like i said, i'm gonna give it some time without it, and see what i think.
I guess you are not in product development, J/K.
Free ram is wasted ram. Just because an app is taking up the memory does not mean it's running. Memory is not like your processor and higher load is not bad. It simply takes up memory because next time you run it, it loads faster. Android OS kills an used app when you don't have enough free memory. Android is not Windows Mobile, multitasking is managed very well.
Main reasons for lag would be either you running too many widgets or anything that runs all time or rogue widgets. Apps are suppose to go to sleep mode when not used, rogue apps don't. ATK uses different method of killing apps which often result in resource that gets stuck, when this builds up you end up with a slower phone.

- i had just reset to factory, then installed the following apps (or app upgrades) before running the performance test:what theme is that?
You all know that we love posting Quadrant Benchmark scores for all of the latest stock or even overclocked devices, so today’s laugher courtesy of Cyanogen comes as a slight disappointment. Basically, Mr. Cyan found that Quadrant isn’t the most accurate of apps and in fact can be completely exploited to show some pretty remarkable numbers meaning the app should no longer be considered a standard tool. Just check out the screenies above and drop a weeping cackle along with us.
