Quadrant score

Hi guys,

I'm new here this is my first post. My issue is i've got a desire abt 2 weeks ago it's running 2.2 froyo out of the box. So far got no issues except when i run quadrant i get a score of abt 800 but the the nexus one shows over 1200.

Now both phones are supposed to be identical from a hardware pov but why the huge disparity on scores. I am running laincher pro over htc's sence UI.

Thanks

Well if you aren't feeling the UI to be laggy, your quadrant score isn't really important.

In general things that would affect performance would include a slow SD card or just having a lot of other stuff running. Did you set your Sense profile to "clean slate" (or "blank slate" or whatever it's called) before running LauncherPro? If not you may have a number of Sense widgets running in the background, even though you aren't using the Sense launcher, so it's worth doing.

Also, always run quadrant 2 or 3 times in a row - the first is always the slowest.

Remember that the people reporting much higher scores are all running custom ROMs and kernels.

The nexus 1 works out at about 1300. The desire should get 1100 - 1200 on 2.2 out of the box.

Also, everything Hadron said.

Quandrant 1540 on Leedroid 2.3b overclocked to 1152 and , thanks to Danfrance, some autostarts changes made

2173.

Starburst Froyo 2.2 rooted, Data2SD running with an 800MB ext4 partition on an 8Gig class 6 memory card.

Yeah but thats fake. Thats due to "enhanced" I/O speeds as data2sd uses a cache writeback which achieves this. I got 2500 with data2sd.

Anyway, quadrant is pretty pointless anyway. It doesn't give real world usage scores, which are what is important.

We are talking about Froyo roms. GB roms dont score high because 3d graphics are not optimised. Yet the GB roms run games as well as froyo roms.

This is why i say quadrant has no bearing on real world speed.

GB roms are clearly faster than froyo roms on the home screens and through the menus etc, yet they score lower on quadrant.

Quadrant is probably the most known all-in-one benchmark.
I wonder if there is anything else as an alternative all-in-one tool.

Theres linpak. Not sure if its all in one or just CPU

Edit. Just CPU. Scores in MFLOPS :)

My best so far is 41.034
