Quadrant Score

What exactly is this a measure of, overall awesomeness? I have Smoked Glass 6.0 w/ChevyNo1 1.25 LowV and ran a top of 1716, but avg mid 1600s. Is this normal?

No that is not normal for a droid. Stock 2.1 gets about 376 and top end with stock froyo is maybe 1000 or so. Congrats on your performance. OC'ing can definitely speed things up.:D

LOL i got 700 with it set to a max of 250 on 2.2. I see people with 1800+ and wonder how the heck they get that high?

just ran it and got 1531 although i'm topping mine out at 1.0

If you go to the market and search quadrant it will give you the app. It is a free app and pretty cool to use.

Yes, that is normal. Most people only post their best score. The poster below you doesn't have a rooted phone, so they will score much lower. Just making the jump from 2.1 to 2.2 will make a huge diff. Being able to OC to 1.25 is about the highest a Droid will go (w/ very few exceptions). There are also many more ROM options, some being known for extreme speed, which is how some people can consistently score so high.

Those scores are normal for an overclocked Droid at your speeds on 2.2. It's a consolidated benchmark that includes various different components and gives you one combined score. It's a cool little way to measure performance increases, but if you read up on that type of benchmark you'll find that it doesn't really give you a perfect picture of the speed of a device. Real use experience will always be more important.

I'm running in the 2100's with a Samsung Vibrant. This with a virtual Ext 2 in the internal sd card and running at 1000 mhz. Running android 2.1 BTW

Sorry I'm in the completely wrong forum

With that score, a lot of people here will think THEY'RE in the wrong forum. lol

I have run a number of kernels and have gotten scores from the mid 1100s to mid 1500s but to tell you the truth I cannot notice a "real world" difference running a 800 kernel and a 1.1 kernal. To tell you the truth my wifes incredible scores pretty low and is just as snappy as my phone running a 1.1 kernel. What does the quadrant score tell us in "real world operation"?

Not much, to be honest, but I def notice a diff in my Droid when it's OCed to 1.1 or 1.2GHz. Whether or not it's a prudent choice when the diff is slight but can still slightly affect battery life, well, that's another story. Decisions, decisions. lol

I would be interested to see non-Android smartphones compared against our Droids with some kind of quasi-benchmarking system like quadrant.

I went from 380 with my stock 2.1 Droid, to 850 with stock 2.2, and now on BB 0.4 I am 1100 without touching set CPU. I do not need any more speed on anything at all. I would like more battery life though.
