Root Quadrant vs Antutu Differences

Hello all,

I have both the Quadrant Standard app and the Antutu Benchmark app. Whenever I run them I always get a lower score on Quadrant but my device appears high on the phone comparison chart. But when I run Antutu, I get a higher score but my device appears much lower on the phone list.

I also noticed that Quadrant finishes testing much faster than Antutu. Can anyone explain why there is such a big difference between the two apps? Does one do more extensive testing than the other?

It is a free benchmarking application, and yes, it can be found in the market. It has some high ratings so I gave it try.

I was using it to do some benchmarking results with a supercharger v6 script.

My quadrant scores were much better after the v6 script. Using Antutu my numbers were pretty close before and after the v6. The biggest improvement being my sdcard read and writes. All of the other numbers, CPU, floating point, etc, were up or down everytime I ran it. But mostly better.

So this brings to question, which one is a better indicator of overall performance? Looking antutu results compared to personal experience, I'd say that the v6 script gives you a slight improvement in performance on the EVO. Which is consistent with what most peeps are reporting.

Yep, I found it and gave it a try. Essentially it looks like it does the same benchmarking as quadrant standard. The only difference I saw was the sd card read/writes at the end of the benchmark. Not sure if the read/writes of the sd card are necessary in a benchmarking score but.........

Personally, I think the sd card read/write is arbitrary to the overall benchmark scores, but I don't know enough about benchmarking to know for sure.

The thing that baffles me is trying to determine why my lower score on Quadrant places my phone higher on the phone comparison chart than my higher score on Antutu.

To be honest, I wouldn't put too much stock into benchmarking scores. They really don't mean much but I usually use a benchmark score just to confirm something that I already know. But it's always nice just to get a comparison of different phones benchmarks
