Accessories Quest for the tightest thinnest EVO Case

Anyone get their NEON Green case yet? I'd like to see shots of this ...

For those saying it's peeling, is it black plastic underneath, or red?

does he have the blue tpu gel case or regular hard case? if so does that fit well because i ordered the smoked gray. i think the gel material is made out of the same silicone i had on my incredible.

My black has shiny black underneath... actually would be kinda nice without the finish.

It is a great case! It is peeling slightly, but for the $ it is more than fine. You can barely notice the peel slightly on the corners. If it gets bad by that time more cases will be out, or I'll just order another one. Great feel, minimilist and tight... just would like better protection and hope it doesn't scratch the Evo.

i agree with this. mine is starting to become shiny a little on corners but i'm actually hoping the whole thing ends up like this haha. i just don't want it to look like one of those cars that has the clear coat peeling off. otherwise, won't bother me one bit. if it does start to look like that, then i'm gonna get a clear one. problem solved. love this case.
 
My black one is wearing on the front corners and on the front sides as well. A couple spots are worn down through both the rubber and black paint underneath, exposing white plastic. Took a Sharpie to it for now so it doesn't look too bad. Will consider the Case-Mate Barely There case once that comes out as I would think it would be one solid piece of plastic without any paint or coatings.

Still, for $7.95 this case is a pretty darn good value. I don't abuse my phone but I guess the coatings were wearing off while keeping my phone in my front pocket.

My red one is peeling a little at the corners and its almost like a glossy red metallic finish underneath. It actually doesn't look too bad. I wouldn't even say its peeling, more like the rubberized surface has just rubbed off a bit. Its barely noticeable on the front corners of the phone and the back is still fine.
 
I've got rub wear too now. I only notice it if I stare. Cheap $5 case with amazing fit, I'll deal. Though if the casemate appears to be similar but better quality, I'd upgrade. I'd just have a tough time going to a thicker or more encompassing case now. I put my innocase on for a bike ride (still haven't sent it back yet), and it just seemed so bulky. I'm quite accustomed to the size of the phone now to the point I pulled my Pre out and everything just felt too small. Now the Dell Lightning could bring me back to a slider though.

uh oh. the black paint is rubbing off too? well damn lol. maybe i should go ahead and order a clear one now so it'll arrive sooner rather than later...

jeez, case-mate and incipio need to get their cases out!
 
I hate to tell yall, but even the better brands with rubber coating will do the same thing. The Incase Slider, which is one of the best cases for the iPhone, had the same problem with the rubber wearing off the corners, but it costs almost 35 bucks! lol.

A full coverage rubberized hardcase for my old Blackberry Curve did the same. It was also around $35 :mad:

true, but it's possible that the Incipio cases won't have a rubber coating. same with Case Mate. will depend on the final design.

i had the white Incase Slider. loved it. i hope there will be white for all of the cases coming out.
 
I am a bit confused because you all talk about your cases but you don't give a link or explanation to which one form Ebay you got so this reviews go to waste. I am trying to read through to see which case is not expensive, includes a screen protector and protects the lens.... so which one?

I was a bit confused at first too. Some people have posted links to their specific case, but MOST people in this thread are talking about the link in the first post.

i wouldn't recommend the case we're talking about if you're specifically looking to protect the lens. it pretty much sits right at it. as far as a case i would recommend, i posted a link to a silicone case i got for $6 dollars off of ebay. i'd buy that until a case comes out from Otterbox, Incipio, or Case Mate. all the hard cases out so far aren't perfect and are too expensive not to be perfect. i had the 3 side case that's exclusive from Sprint but i'm taking it back due to price, it being a tad more bulky than i wanted, and hitting the power button isn't ideally easy.

we are talking about the thin hard case that i posted a quick vid review up of. they come in black, blue, purple, clear, white, green etc.
 
Well I do believe mine is lost in the mail, i placed my order from the first link in this post like a week and 1/2 now and still nothing, my ebay says I should of had it between the 16th and the 21st. I went to my local mall here and the same case's are now available from the mobile cell phone acc shops so I picked up one for $14.00, not a bad fit and I hope the finish will last ? I hope Incipio makes one, I had the Feather flat black soft case and it never got any wear spots on it i really hope they make one for the Evo ?

oh good to see that! i can't wait til some more tpu cases with patterns come out. and i hope that the cut out for the camera, flash, and speaker actually do look like that.

I just got my red case and smoked grey jelly case and I love them. Although the red thin case doesn't fit so well on the left side of my phone. It's sort of raised a little bit but its nothin major. For 5 bucks what do you expect. I really like this jelly case one fits perfect

Just got my black and red Ebay cases in today...

For the price, it's great. It fits good, and is as minimalist as I was looking for.

The method of attachment I'm not a big fan of though. There's already 2 tiny tiny little chips in the phone's paint. Nothing major at all, but with time it could get worse. Also, the cases have some sort of dirt/grain on them. It's really annoying.

I'll probably be buying a different case to use in the long term, but for the price, these cases are pretty good.

EDIT: The graininess is just too much. I've removed the cases, and will be naked until I find a better replacement.

EDIT X2: The "chips" weren't chips. They were actually something left ON to the Evo. I just scratched them right off. I am still scared though because of the grittiness and hard plastic contact on the phone.
