Root Question about 3g on CM7

Just wondering what people's battery life is like with 3g enabled on their CM7 Triumphs.

If I disable mine I get pretty good/great battery life...but when I enable it(even when it has a low time without signal %) my battery drains terribly. When I enable it and use it for a couple of minutes I can watch my % go down.

Not a huge deal for me because when I'm at work I'm not supposed to use my phone at all so leaving data disabled is fine, but it'd be nice to go out sometime and get notifications from Voxer and similar apps.
 
3g by itself for me is not bad (always could be better).
once wi-fi is set, good night irene, luckly, my phone is always on a charger.

Are you saying wifi makes the battery worse? I always had better luck with wifi, but that was with my stock rom.. I'm still getting used to the whole CM7

He's saying if you have them both running at the same time you're draining your battery like no other. Wifi does seem to drain a bit more than mobile data for me, though. I almost never use 3g.

In the current Cyanogenmod 7 ROM for this phone, wifi prevents the phone from deep sleeping as it does in stock.

Like you, I achieved much better battery life with wifi always on when compared to 3G on the stock ROM. This is not the case with CM7.. at least on our device currently. If a fix for the wifi bug is ever discovered this may change. (With wifi turned off and 3G enabled I am averaging about a 1% to 2% per hour idle battery drain which is fantastic. With wifi on, that jumps up to around 10% per hour idle battery drain.)
 
battery is good . dont use wifi cause it drains battery life, noticed on version 2-28-12 that the battery drains fast .
 
I'm on 3/4 version and if i have 3g enabled i'm looking at 5-10% battery drain an hour. Calibrated the battery, not sure what I'm doing wrong.
 
I'm on 3/1, read all my news and check on here to see if CM 9 has a camera yet, then it's text, a few calls and email / Facebook checks the rest of the day, along with the auto app updates. When I get home at night I'm usually in the 60% range. Almost entirely 3g and I do use juice defender, over clocked to 1400.GPS is always on too
