Root Question about A2SD

Ok, I have aloysius. I partitioned my SD card and wiped a flashed aloysius. It's not doing anything. I'm still at 81mb. What am I doing wrong? Is there somethong I need to download? If so can I get a link? Ty

Same problem. After formatting sd and partitioning I still have only 88mb free after flashing new aloysius v12

when partitioning with amon recovery it gives an option to set the swap size. default is 32mb. should i keep it at that? and ext2 size? thanks

OK. So I'm currently running Zen rom... so far so good. A2sd working.
So say i want to try another rom...
do I just wipe and flash? And my apps with be there on the new rom?

Or do I have to partition the card again so A2sd will work on the new rom?

Ideally, i would love to be able to switch back and forth through my nand backups....

sets up a little "box" on your SD card that your apps are installed onto. a2sd then links the /system/data/app to the partition on your sd card so your phone thinks its all the same thing.

So this little "box" you speak of...
does this change how to do a NAND backup?
There is an option to do Nand + ext backup. Would A2sd be an extension?

yes but only if its formatted in ext4, which out phone doesnt support. nand backups are unchanged

+1, I am curious about this also.

Here's a new one:

So I partitioned my SD card this morning and attempted to get Aloysius V12 running with apps2SD. It took me all of 5 minutes to decide that the ROM wasn't for me and I did a NAND recovery back to my beloved 2.1.1 (which is apps2SD enabled). Should I have apps2SD on this recovered ROM? How do I tell? Ahh soooo much confusion w/ this apps2SD stuff....:(

I went from one A2SD rom to another A2SD rom and all my apps were still there! I wiped data/factory and dalvik cache, then flashed the new rom. I should have already known this since the apps are on a partitioned part of the SD drive that would be untouched by the wiping (unless you wipe the ext partition of course).
