Question about bluetooth and contacts

I have an Optimus V. Using it with an '11 Camry.

Previously had a BB Storm 2.

With the BB the car automagically used the phone's contacts list for voice dialing.

i.e., I never had to do any contact management; it never downloaded any contacts into the car's contacts list; it just used the phone's address book directly.

With the Optimus I have not found any automatic solution with respect to contacts. I can manually sync the phone's contacts into the car's list, but that is an inelegant solution.

Ideally, I'd like the same thing I had on the BB - just use the phone's list directly.

Second best would be for the car list to be automatically updated to match the phone's list, so I don't have to manually sync it.

Is either of those possible?

TIA.

I have a visor mount Bluetooth that once paired searched all my contacts in the "V" and imported and stored them so I could make voice dial calls.
It's not a matter of if the "V" is capable , but instead, is your car capable.

Apparently I've failed to communicate well, because to me it is obvious from my first post that (1) the car is capable of doing what I want and (2) the functionality you have described in the above quote is not the functionality I am looking for.

The phone is capable of what you want. It's the Bluetooth device that determines the functionality. Will it import contacts, will it just use the phones contacts when needed, etc.
