Help Question about downloading

[BigCiX]

I have a buddy who has had his driod x for about 5 weeks now. Up until today he had no clue about launcher pro or fancy widget. My question is, will the driod x let u download from a link on the browser or do u have to use the andriod side load machine like att's unrooted captivate to get apps not on the market. I have a link where he can download live wallpaper city at night and beautiful widget.

I first needed to install eoeappinstaller, then downloaded an .apk file. Used eoeappinstaller to select what I downloaded from the stock browser after selecting Settings>Applications>Unknown sources
