if a mod is made from the stock gingerbread rom, should it not work on all roms that are based off of that? just curious...

it will depend on the rom and if it is de-odexed or not. if it is odexed the it might not work. all roms are designed slightly different. that is why themes and mods are rom specific most of the time.

Plus it also depends if the Rom has any extras. For example, MikG, GB based. Has sense 2.1 plus some sense 3.0. Mods for straight GB will be for sense 1.0, they will not be compatible with MikG.
