If you are using repo it will sync from the start every time. That having been said, it will be able to start from where it left off (sort of) as it works it's way through the source. When it get's through the total source it will only need to download as the source changes.

This will take forever if you are working over the phone. You are going to be downloading over a poor connection that is limited to 2GB at a slow full speed. On top of that, it will have to start over every time the connection times out. If you are using a laptop, could you use a library or a friend's house to to the initial download and get things started right? Even over WiFi things can go sideways.

ahh man that mean fot the past week ive gotten nowhere dang it. i tether wit my evo v bur idk i guess i gotta wait til i go to a mcdonalds or something

You can always just check out each individual git repository, skip the big ones if you want (kernel, frameworks, packages).

Like I was saying before, it starts over, sort of. It downloaded some stuff, but will need to check what it had before it can contimue. With that being said, if something was updated since it was last checked the changes are downloaded and processed. I had my router in another room and had to download using a bad connection that would cut out all the time. I ended up with a bunch of locked sync processes and when it was finally done there was curruption. That's what I'm trying to avoid for you.

I don't know what Ubuntu needs but you will probably need all or most of them. You could download a zip of the git repositories from github, which doesn't include the version history. There's a zip button right next to the repository address.

Thanks i will go check that out. I got on the free node or whatever it is I've never used it and asked the ppl on the Ubuntu chat and they said it picks up where it lefts off. Imma go check it out and see if i can find the zip
