Help Question about Voice Actions

Do you have to be connected to the internet to use them? like if i wanted to use it just to send a text? do I need to be connected to the net?

yeah I think it has to connect to a server to do the voice to text processing.

Ever since they updated the voice service mine has been shisty at best.. can't make calls with it at all (it opens up google with search text 'call angie') i can initiate a text but not who i'm texting, i've tried hundreds of times but it never recognizes the name... AAARRRGGGHHH

My first guess is no, doesn't it take a lot of memory to process your voice recognition? I would love one not to need the internet even if it were say 5 gb of memory but that seems to be a pipe dream as of now.

i think you may have to have your contacts synced to your gmail account
then say call angie, but u have to state whether its home or mobile
to check, in your contacts tick Google, and then edit the contact and see what the primary number is set as, most of the time they are just set to mobile

so "Call Angie Mobile" should do it for you

assuming u have set your voice to text language to english(us) if ur in the uk

Well the incredible doesn't work in the UK(does it?) But i am synced with my google account and the primary is set. Before the update it worked fine, now it opens the browser and does a search on 'call angie' is very frustrating as this was one feature i used a lot and really enjoyed
