Question on fm radio for uk? users

Hi

After long using an Iphone ive become fedup of having to jailbreak it to get any simple use out of it. So far im loving all the reviews on the desire and will most probably get one (waiting on a callback from vodafone)

Anyway my question is about the built in FM radio when used in the uk, Is it a semi decent radio? Does it loose reception when you move? At the mo i listen to it via the internet but that eats up battery time and bandwith so looking for a phone that would end that.

Thanks

I've only used a couple of stations so far and I've only sat in my room whilst listening to it but it's been a pretty good reception so far.

Nokia radio is better, but it's still acceptable... of course, I guess it depends on where you are.

My experience of the radio is that it's pretty poor. I've come from a Samsung i8910, and the radio on that was superb. The Desire has great difficulty in finding and retaining stations. I've tried it with various earphones, and only one - that has a very long cable - was better than below average. Not impressed.

I think the radio on the desire is really really poor. You can hardly hear it through the hiss. Tried switching to mono, different headphone cables. I have no idea if this can be fixed or not. Does anyone know if this is a hardware or software problem ?.

My Sony w810i is soooo much better than this.

hmm, a mixed bag of responses there :(

Missing_Link have you rooted yours and used the asian radio update i think it was? Ive heard it improves it but i dont know if it does

Not great for me, I can't get Radio 1 anywhere :( And my local radio station works fine if I stand still, but there's a lot of interference when I'm on a train / bus.

is there any app for FM tunning of world wide stations via internet (3G), I came across one sometime back but dont remember name anymore.

I got one called Radiotime which has all of the UK and worldwide stations. Paid though. Anyone recommend a free one (I have a day to refund)? A lot of them are just the crappy internet only radio stations and not things like BBC, Capital and Talksport.
