question regarding data usage

So just bought the nexus through Rogers. I have a 500MB data plan which i believe is sufficient enough for me. However, i do have a question regarding my data usage, do i still get charged for my data that i use on my wifi when my mobile data is turned off? Or the 500MB that i got is only for mobile data and if i use wifi the data consumption is not added to my mobile data?
I realized i had used about 100 mb of mobiledata just from downloading apps and games. Then i was home and realized i had connected to my wifi at home. I thought why not, might as well download more apps and ended up using about 30 mb usage. Not bad but im worried that my wifi will be added to my 100mb of mobile data, hopefully thats not the case? If not this purchase just got a whole lot more better :)

If your on your own wifi or free wifi eg Starbucks etc
Its free and should not count towards your mobile data plan

You can leave your mobile data switched as the nexus will connect and use wifi as preferredconnection

You can also set your apps to only snyc/refresh on wifi only

In the data usage screen tick the show wifi usage if you want to see how much wifi you have used

rock and roll! That is indeed good news then. I thought my wifi was going to be added to the mobile data. This plan and phone just got a whole lot better. Thanks for the reply

Yeah my wife gets by with a 150MB plan, by being careful to only use wi-fi for everything. I would do the same, but I don't have wi-fi at work, plus I have the grandfathered unlimited.
