Friend of mine just gave me an LG Ally and its my first 'smartphone'. I have been using a tethering app (tether lite) and it has worked fine for two weeks. Just the other day when I try to load certain pages (online class page-Facebook) it wont let the page load giving the connection failed page. I was thinking of rooting the phone so that I can get the free wifi app (like the hotspot with verizon). Any ideas to why pages wont load as they did? Or is it worth rooting to gain access to the apps....

Verizon fights tethering, they probably blocked it.
