Can someone lead to a link on how to fix it so it works again. I am on the new4.2.2 version with Verizon nexus. It won't update says incompatible with phone. Has anyone found a new workaround? Thanks in advance. Sorry if this has been asked I did a search and read a few but didn't read anything to help.

I forgot all about this product. It has had so many ups and downs. I wouldn't worry about it too much right now, as there will probably some kind of mass update at Google I/O (I recall reading a few months ago some cryptic article about how they have big plans for wallet).

Also, there are issues with the product as not all carriers support it, etc. For example, you are not listed as a supported device:

The easiest way is to install the latest version manually. You just have to go into settings > Security > check "unknown sources". Copy/download the APK to your phone. Navigate to the apk using a file manager. I use estrongs file explorer. Install the APK and you will have wallet.

The politics between Verizon and Google will continue for as long as Verizon is invested in ISIS and the government doesn't intervene. Therefore the only ways to get Google Wallet to work is to install the apk manually, or mess with the build.prop to make the market thing you have the gsm version. Doing that 2nd way can cause other problems to creep up though.

Do you mean problems if you leave it as a fake GSM phone, or even if you switch it back after updating Wallet through the Play Store?

Most would likely be fixed if you switched it back, though you have to change back and forth every time the app updates. One potential problem is even after you switch back, you could run into some Status 7 errors while in recovery if you're trying to flash a rom or update via an official ota.

That would explain the status 7 error I kept getting when I was trying to flash the leaked update. Thanks for solving that mystery, I was wondering what was wrong. I've seen other people say they just take the APK from their Nexus 7 and used it on their GNex, so I guess I have that option too.

I was still able to flash a ROM but had to do a full reset to get it to work.

The status 7 errors suck because while they have merit, they more often than not show up as false positives. Therefore stopping people from updating even though their device is capable unless they do some really crafty things or just wipe it clean. So frustrating. :banghead:
