Help Questions about notifications on Incredible

I have two questions being a relatively new Incredible owner (2.5 weeks). I wanted to know the best way to assign my own mp3/wav as a Notification sound. I know how to do it for the ringtones, but I don't see a way to add new notifications.

The other question is if there is a way to assign a different notification sound to emails and texts independently, i.e. a different sound for email than for texts.

You can put them in /sdcard/media/notifications/ and then choose them in the notification list.
