Root Questions about overclocking with BACKside IHO

Hi all! Just a few questions about OCing. Any and all help is much appreciated. :)

What exactly is a governor?

What makes one governor better than the other, or is it merely user preference?

Will OC'ing increase the heat of the phones CPU, and if so by how much?

In the overall Performance settings, is there anything else I should be using/not using if I OC?

Many thanks in advance. :p

The governors are different controls for the processor. What I'm about to say is not actually how it works, you will have to google each governor for the details, this is a general example.

Ondemand is a governor which will scale your processor down to the lowest setting when nothing is running, and will scale it up all the way as soon as processes begin to use it.

Smartass will try to determine the actual speed requried for the processes running, and scale the processor up or down as necessary.

Permormance will pretty much always keep you running full speed, since something is almost always at least contacting the processes.

Once again, what I said is not actually true, just an example to give you an idea of what governors do. With BobZhome's kernel, I like to use the smartassv2. It keeps my phone running smooth with pretty much no lag, and yet I still get a full day out of my battery. ;)
