Root Questions about ROMs and Kernels (help)

I want to install a custom ROM and Kernel, but still have some questions after trying to read-up on them. Mind helping me?

Can I have more than 1 ROM on the phone? (switch back and forth from one to another?)

Are the custom ROM's compatible with both Kernels listed in the All Things Root Guide? Or are some ROM's specifically used with with a specific Kernel, and vice versa?

Thanks.

Yes. Just make back ups. You can make as many as you want as long as you have the room.

And their compatible with all.

Question, Do I need to install them in a specific order; ROM first, then Kernel, or does it not matter?

with my ROM no need to flash any of my other kernels, exception being the 2.2Ghz version, so unless you want to try mt's Blitz kernel you would be all set ;)

Yours is the GSE, right? Does it come with the ICS theme? or is that only with the LD-ICS v1.2 MOD/Themed?

This is a bit overwhelming for me. I think I might try each one and see which i like the best.

LD-ICS is GSE with idrifters ICS theme ;)

Thank you.

Now that it's flashed, I cant access my apps that were on the SD card. Any suggestions?

What you mean you cant access the apps on sd ? Did you backed up the apps?

Before flashing , did you wipe data/factory reset ?

I did a backup of the phone using CWR before flashing. Are you asking if I backedup each individual app? I dont think I did that. Does it matter if the apps were on the SD card?

I followed these steps exactly when I flashed.

How to Flash A Custom ROM-

Download a ROM of your choice from the All Things Root section (The Forum you are in) You can find direct links to each of them in the All Things Root Guide that is stickied at the top of this forum.

1- Once downloaded, its recommended to download it from your computer and place it on your phone, put it on the root of your internal or external sd cards. Root meaning not in a folder.

2- Reboot into recovery using Quick Reboot.

3- Using your volume keys to scroll and your power key to select, scroll down tand select "Wipe data/Factory Reset" then scroll to "Yes" and select.

4- Scroll down and select "Wipe Cache Partition" and then select "Yes"

5- Scroll down and select "Advanced" and select "Wipe Dalvik Cache" and then select "Yes" then scroll down and select "Go Back"

6- Sroll down and select "mounts and storage" then scroll down and select ONLY these 3 listed, "format data" and then select "Yes", then scroll down and select "format cache" and then select "Yes", then scroll down and select "format system" and then select "Yes". Then scroll down to and select "Go Back"

7- Then scroll down to "Install Zip From Sd", if you put the ROM on your external SD card select "choose zip from SD". If you put it on your internal scroll down and select 'choose zip from internal". Then after you selected one of those depended on where you put the ROM, scroll down and select the ROM and then Select "Yes".

Let it run and do its thing and once it says its done, select "reboot system now" and enjoy :)

Ok.if you didn't wipe data or done a factory reset then it won't matter if you moved apps to sd card. Make sure you don't move system the system apps and also widgets app.

But the thing was,i couldn't understand your first question.
