Root Questions about ZVD

My LG Esteem has the ZVD software version and I'm a little cautious at the moment about rooting and flashing.

First I wanted to confirm that this root also works with ZVD: [ROOT] For LG Esteem ZVC
Since it was uploaded a while ago (I don't know when ZVD came out) and the post here only says ZVC, I just want to make sure.

Then, I'm really interested in flashing the Number Two ROM, and I would like to know if there's anything else I need to do in order to flash it, other than rooting.

I've flashed and rooted before (different phone, LG Optimus M) but I just want to make sure I have all the information I need before doing something this risky.

Your good to root. The same root method for ZVC can root ZVD. No problem what so ever. I was on ZVC when I first rooted my phone and then I uograded to ZVD and used the same method. Rooted without a problem.

Well flash clockworkmod recovery. So yeah and when you do. Do what pbot said MAKE A BACKUP. It is VERY IMPORTANT. Think of it as insurance for your phone :b you can download rom manager off of the play store and install recovery its listed as LGE Esteem. After that should be good to go. If you run into ajy problems than we are all here to help you out :D that's the esteem community for ya.

So basically, this:

First, root which previously mention method.
Then, download ROM Manager and install ClockworkMod recovery and make backup.
Finally, flash the ROM.

I'd rather avoid problems than have to fix them later. But yeah, I love this forums, especially the Esteem/Optimus community (only ones I've needed).

Yes thats exactly what you do.

Boot into CWM after you install it by turning the phone off. Pressing the power button and releasing it when the phone vibrates and press and hold both vol up/down buttons. I press in the middle to make sure. Hold those until the "reset" screen comes up. Press power 3 times and it will take you to CWM. It wont reset your phone as long as you have CWM installed.

Good luck and if you need any more help or have any questions feel free to ask.

Awesome. Thank you very much for the confirmation and for telling me the steps to get into CWM. I'm just going to fully charge my phone first. ^_^
